Your Naturopathic Practitioner

&

Holistic Advocate

As a native Houstonian, I have been blessed and rewarded to be married for over 20 years and am the proud mother of three children and grandmother to two grandsons. I am the founder and owner of Holistically You, LLC, and Blooming Leaf.  I have served as an active, licensed, and ordained Reverend for over two decades. In 2018, I founded The Holistic Networking Group at Houston Methodist Hospital in The Woodlands, Texas. Through this initiative, I bring together like-minded individuals and expert speakers to explore a wide range of holistic alternatives designed to improve overall health and quality of life.

I am an active member of the Texas Association of Naturopathic Doctors and offer over fourteen years of deep clinical and practical experience in holistic wellness services, natural supplementation, and custom, hand-integrated wellness products. I am also a former member of the Pastoral Medical Association, where I earned my Diplomat of Pastoral Science.

Driven by my absolute dedication to root-cause education, I earned two doctorate degrees in 2021: my first as a Naturopathic Doctor from Kingdom College of Natural Health in May, followed by my second as a Chaplain from GODSU International Chaplaincy Seminary in December. Having successfully navigated my own pivotal health challenges, I have transformed my personal trials into a powerful professional mission. I stand not just as a practitioner, but as a fierce advocate for true, lifestyle-driven alternative medicine. My life's work is dedicated to bringing a comprehensive, tripartite approach—harmonizing the totality of mind, body, and spirit—to my community, clients, students, and loved ones.

GREETINGS!

The Goal

The 7 Principles of Naturopathic Practitioner

Naturopathic medicine is guided by seven core principles that emphasize natural healing, prevention, and treating the root cause of illness.

 1. The Healing Power of Nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae)
Naturopathic medicine recognizes the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. Practitioners aim to remove obstacles to health and provide the tools such as proper nutrition, exercise, clean water, and supportive care needed to facilitate natural healing.

2. Identify and Treat the Cause (Tolle Causam)
Rather than merely addressing symptoms, naturopathic doctors seek to uncover and treat the underlying causes of illness. This principle emphasizes understanding why disease occurs and addressing root factors like stress, lifestyle, or environmental influences.

3. First, Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere)
Naturopathic physicians prioritize therapies that minimize harm. They often begin with the least invasive, most natural interventions before considering pharmaceuticals or surgery, ensuring patient safety and long-term wellness.

4. Treat the Whole Person (Tolle Totum)
Naturopathic care considers the physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and spiritual aspects of a patient. This holistic approach ensures that treatment addresses all factors influencing health.

5. Doctor as Teacher (Docere)
Education is central to naturopathic practice. Physicians empower patients with knowledge and guidance to take responsibility for their own health, fostering self-care and informed decision-making.

6. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention
Preventing illness is a key focus. Naturopathic doctors assess risk factors, heredity, and lifestyle to implement strategies that reduce susceptibility to disease and promote long-term wellness.

7. Wellness and Wellbeing
Beyond treating disease, naturopathic medicine emphasizes overall wellness. Practitioners support patients in achieving optimal physical, mental, and emotional health, encouraging lifestyle choices that sustain vitality and balance.

These seven principles collectively guide me as a naturopathic doctor in providing holistic, patient-centered education and care that integrates natural therapies, education, and preventive strategies to support the body’s innate healing processes.
